Dear Maine Icons readers,
Our two-year anniversary is just around the corner. And what a two years it has been.
When we first began, we had one goal in mind: To inspire, motivate and inform Mainers by sharing the stories of the individuals who work tirelessly to move our state forward. Along the way, we have met innovators, risk takers, entrepreneurs and those who will lead Maine into the future. It goes without saying, we, too, have been inspired by these Mainers.
As a small business owner, I am proud to be able to share the stories of the individuals that represent the best of Maine’s hard-working spirit. In fact, that is the exact reason why I wanted to start Maine Icons, to provide much-deserved recognition for these business leaders.
Now, you may be wondering the reason for this letter. Well, it’s an exciting time right now, not only for Maine Icons but also for my company, Anania Media. And we wanted to let everyone know about a big change coming to the blog.
As of today, Maine Icons has a new home. And I’m excited to share that it will be on the brand new Anania Media website.
Why are we moving the blog? When I first started it, I enlisted the help of Jamie Carter Logan, our lead (and talented) writer, and Bryan Roche, our editor and formerly one of my go-to freelancers. As our first year continued on, we were lucky to be able to add another skilled writer, Susan Baracco, to our stable. Coming into 2017, as Anania Media continued to grow, I knew I could no longer go on as a solo operator. Thanks to Maine Icons, I knew of a couple of individuals that could help out. First, I brought in Jamie on a part-time basis, and shortly after, I hired Bryan as Anania Media’s first full-time employee.
With that, the Maine Icons team quickly became the Anania Media team, which is the reason behind moving the site. Now that we are all together at Anania Media, it only made sense to bring Maine Icons under the umbrella, too. We have some exciting stories in the queue for 2018, both written and video, and we can’t wait to share them with you.
You’ll be able to find the same great profiles of Maine’s entrepreneurial leaders at Maine Icon’s new home: ananiamedia.com/maine-icons/
On behalf of the whole team, we wish you and yours a joyous holiday season, and of course, thank you for your continued support of Maine Icons.
Warm regards,
Peter Anania
