Do you know someone who is making a difference in Maine? Someone who is leading the way in their industry, their business or their community? Maine Icons wants to recognize the Mainers who are moving our state forward, and we want your input. By sharing the stories of Maine Icons, we hope to inspire, motivate and inform Mainers with good news about our state and its people.
A Maine icon doesn’t have to be a millionaire. They just have to represent what is right with Maine business and leadership – success in their field and the creative, entrepreneurial, community-oriented spirit people have come to expect of Maine.
Help Maine Icons Grow!
What Makes An Icon?
A Maine Icon is in the midst of their career, with a track record of accomplishments and involvement. They’ve made a profound impact on a business or industry, they’re involved in the community, and have an appreciation for living and working in Maine. Many of them are recognizable names across the state, but others may be quietly making a difference, unheralded but deserving of recognition with a story that can inspire others.
Among the Icons we have profiled so far are: Harold Pachios, Kevin Thomas, Laura Davis Rinck, Alan Spear and Fred Forsley.
What Makes An Emerging Icon?
An Emerging Icon is at the beginning of their career, but has already proven they are on a trajectory for success. They’re involved in the community, and a driving force in their industry. Emerging Icons want to see Maine grow and succeed, and plan to continue their career helping to make that happen.
Noah Bissell and Christopher Lee are just two of the individuals that have been named Emerging Icons, and we know there are many other young, driven Mainers out there whose stories should be told.
